Golden Age

I can't read the news anymore
Every time I open my door
And see the print below 
say it isn't so
no no

Could I make it through just one day
Free from lies, confusion and hate
The life I used to know
Connected by love understanding and hope

I believe in a golden age
With pure fascination and faith that each day
Might wind up somewhere unexpected and real

But you and I know the score
We sign our name on the line each time we walk out the door  
So I feel I can speak for everyone gathered here today
